When my first two children were ages 3 and 1, I needed a hobby to fill my time while they napped.  I’ve always loved fabrics and my mom is a quilter, so I asked her to teach me to use a sewing machine.  My husband and brother decided to gift me a basic sewing machine for Christmas that year, but made a bet - either I’d never touch it or I’d become obsessed. Twenty-four years later, I haven’t stopped sewing!

My passion for fabrics coupled with satisfaction from creating textile art has fueled my more-than-two-decade sewing journey. I cater to anyone who has special or cherished fabric(s) and a desire to have a one-of-a-kind keepsake….that might be viewed, displayed, gifted or used in day-to-day life. Barb Patrick Design was originally inspired by merging this hobby with an entrepreneurial spirit.  I studied Sociology at Colgate University and have worked in market research, event planning, marketing, development and philanthropy over the years.
